My detachment staff members are dedicated and highly trained to ensure your success at DINFOS. My full faith and confidence rests in their ability to provide the best customer service to you.

Welcome to Air Force Detachment 2, 336th Training Squadron at Fort Meade, Maryland!

Congratulations on your selection to attend the Defense Information School! The U.S. Air Force detachment is home to all Non-Prior Service (NPS) Airmen, Prior-Service (PS) Airmen, officers and civilians attending courses at DINFOS.

Detachment 2 is a geographically separated unit of the 336th Training Squadron, which falls under the 81st Training Wing located at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi. Detachment 2 is responsible for the development, administration, implementation and operation of initial and advanced Air Force training for the Air Force Public Affairs career field. Our mission is to instill in Airmen attending public affairs and visual information courses Airmanship, leadership and professionalism to build overwhelming combat power for the U.S. Air Force. Our mission coincides with that of Air Education and Training Command’s: Recruit, train and educate Airmen to deliver airpower for America.

We are located in building 8478, 6th Armored Cavalry Rd., which includes the Commander Support Staff, Military Training Leaders’ offices, and the living quarters for NPS Airmen. These Airmen come directly from Basic Military Training and are also referred to as "initial entry training" or "pipeline students." They undergo the Transition Program, which is administered by the Military Training Leaders. All other students attending DINFOS in TDY status are considered Prior Service Airmen, regardless of rank.

Your experience while at DINFOS should be memorable and exciting. The professional staff and faculty are dedicated to training you for the opportunities and challenges you will face in the public affairs and visual information arenas throughout your career in the military. Take this opportunity to focus on your academics and network with your fellow students. The opportunity to explore the Baltimore-DC area, which offers an abundance of historical, cultural and entertaining events and sights, is also at your fingertips. Explore responsibly!

My role is to uphold the Air Force standards and ensure we deliver the best trained and equipped Airmen to share our story with the world. I look forward to meeting you, working with you during your time at DINFOS, and seeing your hard work pay off for our Air Force in the future!
