Job Vacancies are available at the Defense Information School – Full-time contract positions supporting the Defense Information School’s mission to train and sustain a corps of professional communicators for the Department of Defense are available at Fort Meade, Maryland.

These full-time positions are with Oneida ESC Group, a family of companies owned by the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin that delivers customer-focused engineering, science, construction and professional services worldwide.

Successful candidates will be responsible for providing instruction in the public affairs, communication strategy and/or visual information fields. The positions require the incumbent to use established training criteria for teaching the disciplines of Military Planning, Communication Planning, Media Engagement, English Usage and Writing, and Visual Information.

To be considered, candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in a communication related field and at least 5 years of industry experience. The incumbent is highly encouraged to have expertise in advising senior military leadership or industry executive-level personnel on communication strategy, public sentiment, information release, issues management and crisis communication in complex information environments, knowledge in leveraging relationships within military commands or industry organizations, the community, the media, and stakeholders (influencers) to accomplish a mission, knowledge on how to employ a communication team in accordance with DoD and service policies and tactics, techniques, and procedures to achieve a commander’s desired state.

The Defense Information School is a part of the Defense Media Activity (DMA) located on Fort George Meade, Maryland. The DMA mission is to provide a wide variety of information products to the Department of Defense and its external audiences through all available media, including motion and still imagery; print; radio; television; Web and related emerging Internet, mobile, and other communication technologies.

These are full-time positions with occasional opportunities to telework depending on the needs of DINFOS. Candidates must pass pre-employment drug screening test and periodic drug screening thereafter.
