Director of Public Affairs & Communication Strategy Directorate

Lt. Col. Angel Jackson

Lieutenant Colonel Angel Jackson is the Director of the Public Affairs & Communication Strategy Directorate at the Defense Information School. She oversees seven strategic communication and visual information courses, the mobile training program, as well as the International Military Student program.

Lt. Col. Jackson is from Cochran, Georgia. She entered active duty as a Multimedia Illustrator in 2001. She also served as a combat photographer in Korea. She received her commission in 2004 as a PATRIOT Air Defense Artillery Officer through Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, Georgia, in 2004. Since 2011, LTC Jackson has served as an Army Public Affairs Officer.

ASSIGNMENTS
Lieutenant Colonel Jackson has held several assignments in the U.S. Army to include Patriot Air Defense Artillery platoon leader and executive officer at Fort Bliss, Texas. She served in the 88th Brigade Support Battalion at Fort Polk, Louisiana, as the battalion human resources officer and as a company commander. She deployed to Afghanistan in 2010 with the 101st Airborne Division. Lieutenant Colonel Jackson served as a plans officer, and community and media relations officer. Her most recent assignment was commander of the 24th Theater Public Affairs Support Element, the Army’s only active duty TPASE.
