DoD Southern Border 2025
June 9, 2025 | 1:56
U.S. Army Spc. Chase Hebert, a UH-72 Lakota helicopter crew chief, and Chief Warrant Officer 4 Jeffrey Hebert, an acting maintenance officer and UH-72 Lakota helicopter pilot, 3rd Battalion, 140th Aviation Regiment, Hawaii National Guard, assigned to Joint Task Force–Southern Border, perform aerial surveillance operations during a deployment in support of the southern border mission, at Pine Valley, Calif., June 9, 2025. The Hebert father-son duo is deployed within the same unit; Chief Hebert is set to retire upon the mission’s conclusion. Under the direction of U.S. Northern Command, Joint Task Force–Southern Border aligns efforts to seal the southern border and repel illegal activity and is responsible for full-scale, agile, and all-domain operations, which will allow for more effective and efficient Department of Defense operations.
