DoDEA Europe Celebrates Month of the Military Child
Department of Defense Education Activity Europe
April 9, 2025 | 0:42
DoDEA Europe is proud to celebrate the Month of the Military Child (MoMC) across 64 schools in 8 countries, shining a spotlight on the strength, resilience, and courage of military-connected children. This month, our schools are hosting a wide range of events that include clap-ins, purple shirt days, interactive activities, performances by school bands, and more — all aimed at recognizing the vital role military children play in supporting their families and communities.

On April 9th, we will come together for Purple Up Day, an annual event celebrated across all DoDEA schools, where we show our collective support and appreciation for the sacrifices and contributions of military children. By wearing purple, we honor their unique experiences and the challenges they face as part of military families. This day, along with the entire Month of the Military Child, allows us to recognize the adaptability, resilience, and positive spirit that military children demonstrate every day.

DoDEA Europe is committed to ensuring that these children are celebrated, supported, and empowered. We are proud to provide them with the tools and opportunities to succeed, regardless of the challenges they may face. As we observe MoMC and Purple Up Day, we acknowledge the important role these young heroes play in shaping our communities and strengthening the military family bond.
