DINFOS Hall of Fame

The Defense Information School (DINFOS) Hall of Fame honors distinguished alumni, living or deceased, who have made extraordinary and lasting contributions at the highest levels in public service, industry, the military or academia for at least 20 years. Nominees may come from the fields of public affairs, public relations, print journalism, photojournalism, broadcast journalism, visual information, photography, videography, multimedia, or broadcast maintenance engineering and other related fields.

Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III hosts a Relinquishment of Responsibility ceremony for the 40th Chief of Staff of the Army Gen. James C. McConville and Change of Responsibility ceremony for 16th Sergeant Major of the Army Michael A. Grinston with ceremonial support by U.S. Army Soldiers from across the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) and The U.S. Army Band, “Pershing’s Own,” at Summerhall Feild, Fort Myer, Virginia, Aug 4, 2023. Also in attendance was Secretary of the Army Christine E. Wormuth and during the ceremony, the Chief of Staff of the Army, Gen. James C. McConville, and Sergeant Major of the Army, Michael A. Grinston, relinquished responsibility to the Vice Chief of Staff of the Army, Gen. Randy A. George and the 17th Sergeant Major of the Army, Michael R. Weimer.
