DINFOS Hall of Fame

The Defense Information School (DINFOS) Hall of Fame honors distinguished alumni, living or deceased, who have made extraordinary and lasting contributions at the highest levels in public service, industry, the military or academia for at least 20 years. Nominees may come from the fields of public affairs, public relations, print journalism, photojournalism, broadcast journalism, visual information, photography, videography, multimedia, or broadcast maintenance engineering and other related fields.

U.S. Army Sgt. Clinton Scanlon and Sgt. William Shealey, assigned to the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, compete in the 2018 International Sniper Competition on Fort Benning, Georgia, Oct. 14 through 19, 2018. The week-long competition tested teams from 10 different countries on a myriad of challenges that engaged all aspects of being a sniper. Domestic teams represented the Active Army, National Guard, Army Reserves, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Navy, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Ultimately, the 75th Ranger Regiment team took first place, with the 82nd Abn. Div. team finishing fourth in this year’s competition. Sgt. Clinton Scanlon is from Springfield, Missouri and Sgt. William Shealey is from Charleston, South Carolina.
