DINFOS Hall of Fame

The Defense Information School (DINFOS) Hall of Fame honors distinguished alumni, living or deceased, who have made extraordinary and lasting contributions at the highest levels in public service, industry, the military or academia for at least 20 years. Nominees may come from the fields of public affairs, public relations, print journalism, photojournalism, broadcast journalism, visual information, photography, videography, multimedia, or broadcast maintenance engineering and other related fields.

Since first coming into service in 1980, the M1 Abrams tank has become a staple of U.S. Army ground forces. The 67-ton behemoth has since made a name for itself as an incredibly tough, powerful tool that has successfully transitioned from a Cold War-era blunt instrument to a tactical modern lethal weapon .U.S. Army Sgt 1st Class Smith and Sgt. Ryan Duginski, M1 Abrams Tank Master Gunners, assigned to Battle Group Poland, performed a remote-fire procedure, to ensure the tank’s proper functions at Bemowo Piskie Training Area, Poland, Nov. 6.
