DINFOS graduates can pursue advanced degrees through partner institutions offering programs specifically designed for communication professionals.

West Virginia University (WVU)

WVU College of Creative Arts and Media offers three fully online, asynchronous programs, a Bachelor of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications (B.S. IMC), a Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications (M.S. IMC), and a Master of Science in Data Marketing and Communications.

These WVU programs are designed to help balance education with active-duty service and allow you to complete coursework on your schedule with no virtual class meetings. WVU's strong partnership with DINFOS allows graduates to leverage their training and experience.
WVU is tuition assistance friendly and offers a discounted rate of $250 per credit hour for active-duty military and veterans. It is a 70% discount.

Service members and veterans in both programs can graduate sooner by using transfer credits from American Council on Education (ACE) reviewed DINFOS training as well as Joint Service Credit.


Southern New Hampshire (SNHU)

SNHU offers over 200 transfer-friendly online degree programs for DINFOS alumni! Their classes have a flexible online format that is made for the needs of the military and allows you to do your coursework wherever and whenever.
You can transfer up to 90 credits, including credits from DINFOS training, Professional Military Education (PME), and On-the-Job Training (OJT). These will be applied to an undergraduate degree.

SNHU also provides tuition discounts of up to 30% for eligible active-duty service members and their spouses. It is a discounted rate of $231 per credit hour.
DINFOS alumni who are no longer on active duty and DOD civilians receive a 10% tuition discount. It is a discounted rate of $297 per credit.


DINFOS Initiatives

Mobile Training Team

The Mobile Training Team (MTT) program extends the DINFOS mission by delivering professional military communication training worldwide, addressing public affairs and visual information (PA/VI) skill gaps in the Fleet and Field, while building partner capacity internationally. Subject to DINFOS course availability, highly skilled instructors provide training wherever the Department of Defense community and its partners are located, regardless of mission or experience. Authorized under the DINFOS Charter (DODI 5160.48), the program supports the Fleet, Field, federal agencies, and international military students. 


DINFOS PAVILION

PAVILION is a comprehensive knowledge base and resource center designed to support the Department of Defense's Public Affairs and Visual Information (PA/VI) community. As an extension of DINFOS' mission, PAVILION provides critical tools and resources to enhance the training and sustainment of professional communicators across the fleet and field.

The DINFOS Way is the official podcast of the Defense Information School. Our mission is to empower, inform, and connect people through engaging and accessible content related to our mission to train and educate communication professionals for service in the Department of Defense and with its partners.


DINFOS Training Days

DINFOS Training Days is an event that is designed to support the professional development of Department of Defense public affairs and visual information personnel. Evolving from previous events such as the Social Media Forum in 2021 - 2023 and the 60th Anniversary Alumni Day in 2024, the program supports the DOD mission of achieving an information advantage in today’s dynamic operational environments.

DINFOS Training Days features advanced training sessions, interactive forums, expert-led lectures, and panel discussions tailored to address current and emerging trends in communication and media operations. It provides opportunities for participants to enhance their skills, explore new technologies, expand their professional networks, and access continuing education beyond their initial instruction.
