The Intermediate Motion Media Course is a seven-week resident course conducted at 6500 Mapes Road, Ft. Meade, Md. 20755.
This course operates on a fiscal year schedule from October 1st to September 30th. All courses offered after October 1st of a particular year are considered part of the next fiscal year. For example, if a course begins Oct 1, 2025, it is listed under FY 2026.

Course Description
This course provides the intermediate knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties required for visual information production assignments supporting video documentation of training and operations, public affairs, joint operations, and studio missions throughout the Armed Forces. Classroom instruction includes training in both written and visual communication.
It is also beneficial for students to have a working understanding of Adobe Premiere, Audition, After Effects, and Photoshop. Students will create products that incorporate video, audio, lighting, and motion graphics design elements into both non-narrative and narrative formats. The graduate achieves an intermediate to advanced level of competence for video production and documentation of military events and features.

IMMC FY 26 Course Prerequisites:
AEJC, BCC or BCC-60, BMCSC-USN, BCS, BCS-USAF, MCF, MCF-46V1, MCF-25V1, MCF-87, MCF-VD, MCF-VD-46V1, MCF-VD-V, VPD
IMMC FY 26 Service Prerequisites:
- United States Army, Army Reserve, Army National Guard - Enlisted: E-4 to E-6 (46V and 46S), E-7 ( 46Y and 46Z). Must have at least 1 year of field experience consistently producing video-based products within the year prior to attendance in the Intermediate Motion Media course. Army students who have not graduated from one of the prerequisite courses requires an exception to policy (ETP) prior to enrollment of the course from Army Public Affairs School (APAS) proponent. - United States Marine Corps - Enlisted: E-3 to E-6 (primary MOS 4571; detachment-level rank and MOS waiver authorized). Civilian; GS-07 to GS-13 (Series 10XX).
- United States Navy - E-4 to E-6 (MC). Minimum 15 course hours of video.
- United States Air Force - E-4 to E-6 (3N0X6). Civilians GS-07 to GS-11 (10XX).
- United States Coast Guard - E-4 through E-6 (PA).
- International Students: Attending this course must have English Comprehension (ECL) of 75.
- Interagency Students: Warrant Officers; Grade, duty position description and selection in accordance with specific agency guidance, policy, and procedures. Must have at least 1 year of field experience consistently producing video-based products within the year prior to attendance in the Intermediate Motion Media course.
