Director of Logistics

Lessie Lampkins

Lessie Lampkins

Lessie M. Lampkins has been the director of logistics for the Defense Information School since October 2021. She oversees all logistical, facility and physical security operations within the schoolhouse.

After serving eight and a half years in the Army as an information systems operator (74D), Lampkins began her civilian career in 1999 as a Department of Defense contractor with SSDS Inc.

She joined the DINFOS team more than 20 years ago as a Remedy administrator. Her ability to classify and locate IT assets allowed her to transition to the Department of Logistics as a logistics management specialist.

Lampkins currently leads a team of 10 government civilians and service members who manage all facets of procurement, staff training, property accountability, student issue point operations, supplies and services, facility maintenance, contracting oversight, safety and security. She is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the 320,000-square-foot DINFOS facility and a three-acre field training site that supports student training. She manages a $4.1 million annual budget.

An avid runner, Lampkins spends her spare time training for her next race. She has run the Army Ten-Miler seven times, and in October 2023, she successfully completed the Marine Corps Marathon. She is the mother of two sons, whom she affectionately calls the “heartbeats outside of her chest.”
