COVID-19 Updates

We at the United States Army Signal School Detachment (USASSD), understand that we are living in unprecedented times due to COVID restrictions. With that, please note, we are following all the HQDA, TRADOC, and Fort Meade Garrison policies in order to keep our Soldiers and Cadre safe. Due to the nature of the policies, in-processing, class seating, and class start dates may be affected.


QUARANTINE

Please be aware, until policies are rescinded, reclassifying Soldiers attending the Mass Communications Foundation or Basic Television Equipment Maintenance course will be subject to a 14-day quarantine upon arrival to the Detachment, in accordance with Cyber Center of Excellence General Order Number 1.


INPROCESSING

Soldiers who report during business hours will inprocess on the day they report. Soldiers reporting after duty hours will inprocess on the following business day.

When inprocessing, all Soldiers will have in their possession the following items:

  • Medical and Dental records (unless assigned to Fort Meade; Fort Meade records remain in respective clinics)
  • Identification tags and identification card
  • 10 copies of orders
  • DA Form 1610, if applicable
  • DA Form 31
  • DA Form 3349, permanent profile if applicable
  • DD Form 214, if applicable
  • 4-1 & 4-2 of enlistment paperwork, if applicable
  • Enlistment Extension, if applicable
  • Waivers required to attend DINFOS training
  • SGLV/SGLI

It is advised that Soldiers authorized to travel with dependents report in enough time to take PTDY and find housing prior to their projected class start date. Releasing units CANNOT restrict dependent travel.


PHYSICAL FITNESS TEST

According to FRAGORD 5 to TRADOC Tasking Order IN191691, the prerequisite for all Soldiers to pass the ACFT as a graduation
requirement beginning in FY21 is suspended until further guidance is published. In order to meet TRADOC’s familiarization objection, anticipate to train and test on the ACFT with a goal to pass.se be aware, until policies are rescinded, reclassifying soldiers attending the Mass Communications Foundation or Basic Television Equipment Maintenance course will be subject to a 14-day quarantine upon arrival to the Detachment, in accordance with Cyber Center of Excellence General Order Number 1.eclassifying Soldiers on Temporary Duty (TDY) orders will use Military Training Service Support (MTSS) funding.


HT/WT ASSESMENTS

In accordance with HQDA EXORD 164-20, Army Body Composition Program (ABCP) assessments are currently suspended as a result of
COVID-19 precautions. All passing ABCP assessments remain valid until further notice.


FACE COVERINGS

In order to adhere to centers for Disease control recommendations all Soldiers will wear a cloth face covering in public settings and/or
when social distancing measure cannot be maintained.
