SSG Paul D. Savanuck Memorial Library

The library's mission is two-fold:

To provide professional assistance to students, faculty, and staff in searching for, accessing, and retrieving information.

To provide professional resources in print, electronic, and web-based formats.

The focus of the library's print and electronic collections is to parallel, enhance, and verify the information dispersed in the Defense Information School's (DINFOS) courses of instruction:  journalism, photography/photojournalism, broadcasting, and public affairs.  The library is currently experiencing an ever increasing trend toward the complete virtual environment through links to web-based databases and websites.

The library's physical setting includes 24 Common Access Card (CAC) enabled workstations with printing capability, complete with software to assist students with their class assignments.  There is a separate reading room in which the library's print magazine collection resides.  Photocopier, fax and scan capabilities are available.  There is a separate media room with DVD players and monitors to view the library's extensive DVD collection.  A small conference room is also available to accommodate student groups engaged in private study sessions.
