Welcome to Air Force Detachment 2, 336th Training Squadron Fort Meade, Maryland.
I wish you all the best in your stay here. To help you prepare for your arrival
and gain an understanding of the expectations of students during training, I
offer you the following information:
The Defense Information School (DINFOS) is a DoD training environment with all
services providing students and instructors. The primary responsibility of
Detachment 2, 336th Training Squadron, is to TAKE CARE OF ALL AIR FORCE
STUDENTS attending DINFOS. These responsibilities include providing support in
the areas of lodging, meals, administration, and logistics. My detachment staff
members are dedicated and highly trained to ensure your success at DINFOS. My
full faith and confidence rests in their ability to provide the best customer
service to you.
Detachment 2 is part of the 336th Training Squadron, which is located at
Keesler AFB MS, and it falls under the Air Education and Training Command
(AETC). Therefore, all AF students attending DINFOS are subject to the policies
and procedures of AETC. Detachment 2's building (Bldg 8607) includes the
Commander's Support Staff, permanent party staff offices, and the living
quarters for approximately 100 non-prior service (NPS) students. These NPS
students come directly from Basic Military Training and are also referred to as
"initial entry training" or "pipeline students." NPS students
are subject to the Phase Program, which is administered by my Military Training
Leaders. All other students who attend DINFOS in TDY status are considered
Prior Service (PS). PS students are housed in Army on-post lodging.
During your time at DINFOS, I ask that you conduct yourself in a professional
manner and that PS students set the example for the NPS students, who will be
watching every move. If you let the AF core values be your guiding compass, you
will do well at DINFOS and Detachment 2.
Again welcome aboard and do not hesitate to ask my staff or me if you need any
assistance or additional information. We are here to help make your training
experience at Fort Meade a successful one.
Kristin Mullen, Capt, USAF
